Welcome to Watersound
This planned luxury community located beside a tranquil beach on the Emerald Coast of Florida was designed to provide a retreat from chaotic life.
The unique Watersound community was carefully planned to preserve the natural beauty of the Emerald Coast while installing every needed amenity into town for the residents to enjoy. Spread over 1,400 acres, the area includes crystal blue water, grasslands, and sand dunes with Nantucket-inspired homes overlooking the shoreline.
Walking and biking are the primary modes of transportation within Watersound, as everything one could possibly want is nearby. From golfing to tennis, shopping to fine dining, residents have easy access to any interests and passions they might have.

Local Lifestyle
The gated community provides beachfront luxury to all residents, whether they choose to live in a small, charming cottage or a sprawling and spacious mansion. Every property is designed to complement the local natural landscape, rather than overgroom it into a manicured but generic impersonation of Florida’s beauty. The small size of the town means residents know each other, creating a friendly tight-knit community.
Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping
Bruno’s Pizza has been a local favorite for decades, offering a variety of toppings to suit every palette with options named after the local beaches. The Watersound Beach pizza includes chicken or brisket, barbecue sauce, and fresh mozzarella for a flavor-packed dinner with a Southern twist. Just don’t forget the garlic knots or people will know you’re new to town.
If you’re not in the mood for Italian, head to Local Smoke (at the Big Chill dining and commercial center located on 30A) for tender barbecue. Their brisket nachos are the perfect blend of flavors, and such a meaty meal is nicely balanced by their crisp cucumber salad.
After a meal out, relax at Shore Thing Cigars (also at the Big Chill), where you can browse some of the finest tobacco blends, enjoy a cold beer, and smoke while talking with friends.
Things to Do
Spend some time outside exploring Deer Lake State Park and its extensive trails and tunes, or head to the nearby state forest to spend a day communing with nature. Boaters and anglers will want to take to Camp Creek Lake for sailing, canoeing, paddleboarding, and fishing. The beautiful shoreline features white-sand beaches that make it very tempting to lie out on the hottest days and relax, moving at a leisurely Southern pace.
